Training Division


Clarksville Fire~Rescue's Training Division is headed up by Assistant Chief Randy Ellis. and under his command are:
Lieutenant Tim Dunaway, and Captain Mark Chandler .


Training Division

 

The Training Division has the responsibility for providing firefighting and emergency services training for a force of 168 suppression personnel.  This training shall conform to national fire protection standards, as well as meeting the guidelines and requirements of the Tennessee commission on firefighting standards, education, and the insurance services organization.  The departments training programs incude (240) hours of rookie-recruit training,  (40) hours of annual in-service training for all personnel, driver pump operator training, aerial apparatus training, as well as specialized training in area's such as hazardous materials, acts of terrorism, emergency medical care, vehicle extrication, confine space & trench rescue, just to name a few.



Members of the training division are also certified hazardous material technicians and respond to any hazardous material emergency both in The City and County, and also work hand in hand with our office of Homeland Security Middle Tennessee Region, District 7 for mutual aid response in our 7 County Region.



Training Division also has the added responsibility of conducting annual service test on all fire pumps, and fire hose within the department, to assure our state of readiness is never compromised.
