Rules & Regulations

Park Rules

  • Unless otherwise posted, park hours are Dawn to Dusk.
  • All pets must be on a leash and pet waste must be picked up.
  • Pop up tents and canopies are prohibited.
  • Pets are not permitted on playgrounds, sports complexes or concert/event areas. 
  • Smoking is not permitted on playgrounds, sports complexes or concert/event areas.
  • Drugs are prohibited.
  • Profanity is prohibited.
  • Alcoholic beverages are prohibited (except as provided by Ordinance 4-2012-13).
  • Motorized objects, except mobility devices, on walkways and paths are prohibited.
  • Fireworks and model rockets are prohibited.
  • Weapons are prohibited, except as permitted in accordance with T.C.A. 39-17-1351
  • Park in designated parking lots only. Motorized vehicles are prohibited on park grounds. 
  • Smoking within 25 feet of entrances to buildings is prohibited (State law)
  • Camping or open fires (except with Parks Department Approval) are prohibited
  • Sleeping on: Park benches Picnic tables Sidewalks Walking/running/biking trails or paths Inside buildings or other structures within the park is prohibited
  • Metal or artifact detecting is prohibited
  • Disturbance of plants or wildlife is prohibited
  • Equestrian traffic except for Police personnel is prohibited
  • Inflatables are prohibited
  • Grills are not permitted within 50 feet of a children's play area.
  • Grills are not permitted under pavilions
  • Grills are not permitted within a sports complex (Inside the fields/fenced areas) and the parking lots of sports complexes.

Pool Rules

  •  All patrons who enter the facility must pay admission including non-swimmers. 
  • Swimsuits are required to be worn while swimming. No sports bras, t-shirts without swimsuit underneath, jean or cargo shorts allowed. 
  • All sales are final and no refunds will be given. 
  • Rain checks are only given to patrons who have been swimming for 1 hour or less due to the facility closing and not reopening because of inclement weather. Present receipt to cashier to receive rain check.
  • Clarksville Parks and Recreation and staff shall not be held responsible for lost or stolen articles. 
  • Facility phones are not to be used for personal calls.
  • Each hour includes a 10-minute or (15-minute, if heat index is 95 degrees or higher) safety break which all other patrons under the age of 18 will exit the pool and must sit at least 3 feet back from the edge of the pool.
  • Patrons must change clothes in designated areas located in the locker rooms.
  • Swim diapers must be worn by infants and toddlers.
  • Please refrain from personal displays of affection on pool grounds at all times.
  • Patrons are not permitted in the pool with bandages, open sores or open wounds.
  • Small flotation devices/tubes may be used if they do not interfere with the view of the lifeguards. Large flotation devices are not permitted. 
  • All children 10 years of age and older may be left alone but cannot tend to smaller children unless they are 18 years of age.
  • The following are prohibited:
    • Outside food and drinks.
    • Profane language or spitting on deck. 
    • Hanging or sitting on the pool ropes, pool equipment or lifeguard stands.
    • Towels in the pool.
    • Open swim in the 12-foot area.
    • Talking to lifeguards while on duty.
    • Diving from any sides of the pool.
    • Alcoholic beverages on the pool grounds under any circumstance.
    • Fighting. Everyone involved will be removed from the facility. 
    • Running, horse-playing, dunking, splashing or spitting water.
    • Tossing children from inside the pool or on the deck.
  • Any patrons who persist in disobeying the pool rules and regulations shall be removed from the facility by staff or police if needed

Recreation Center Rules

  • All patrons ages 6 and over must purchase a recreation center membership to enter. All sales are final and no refunds will be given. 
  • All children ages 9 and under must be accompanied and supervised by someone age 15 or over at all times.   
  • Patrons must be at least 16 years of age to use the fitness center without adult (21 and over) supervision.
  • Proper attire is required in the gymnasium and fitness center including fitness attire, or sweatpants or shorts, shirt, and closed toe, non-marking gym shoes.
  • Food and drinks are permitted in designated areas only. Water and sport drinks may be taken in to the gymnasium and fitness center only if they have a secure screw-on lid (and may not be taken on the gymnasium court itself). Chewing gum is prohibited.
  • Patrons may only play music in designated areas with the use of personal earbuds or headphones. However, earbuds and headphones are not permitted on the gymnasium court.
  • The Recreation Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items. No personal items will be stored by center staff for any reason. A limited number of lockers are available (locks are not provided). Lost and Found items are kept for a two-week period.  
  • Recreation Centers are public facilities in which patrons (including youth) may come and go at any time during designated operating hours.
  • All patrons must exit the facility prior to the posted closing time.
  • Good sportsmanship is expected for all activities.
  • Observe all posted signs and abide by warning labels or instructions for use of any fitness or recreation equipment.
  • Only authorized personnel are permitted to conduct personal training or teach instructional classes in this center.
  • Patrons may be photographed or videotaped for marketing purposes. If you wish not to be, please alert center staff.

The following are prohibited:

  • Alcohol or drugs, including patrons currently under the influence of either.
  • Use of tobacco products of any kind.    
  • Loud, foul or offensive language. 
  • Gambling, fighting, threatening, bullying or any other inappropriate conduct.
  • Gang activity or attire.
  • Sagging shorts or pants and bandannas.
  • Organized athletic practices other than Parks and Recreation sponsored activities.
  • All animals, with the exception of certified service animals.
  • Dunking or hanging on basketball rims.
  • Personal use of the office phone.
  • Use of cell phones while actively participating in a recreational activity.

Any patrons who persist in disobeying rules are subject to the Parks and Recreation Department Disciplinary Policy and may be ejected from the facility.
