We understand how important our facilities, parks, and trails are and we work hard to develop improvement projects to satisfy the needs and wants of our community..
Red River East
Construction for the new trail off of Kraft Street was completed in Spring 2021. The trail begins where the North Extension of the Riverwalk ends and continues approximately a quarter mile further up the Red River behind businesses on Kraft Street. Amenities include parking and canoe and kayak access. This new trailhead connects to the new APSU greenway.
Red River Pedestrian Bridge
This fully-funded project is currently underway. Construction will begin in early 2022. The pedestrian bridge will connect the existing north greenway system to the downtown Cumberland Riverwalk, APSU Greenway, and Upland Trails for a combined nine miles of trails.
Sherwood Forest Park: Playground Replacement
Sherwood Forest Park is home to one of our City's oldest playgrounds. In early 2022 the playground is scheduled for replacement. Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department would like to engage the neighborhood in the planning for the new playground. We would like to know a little bit about you and how you would use this new space. Your feedback from this short survey will help us develop a plan. This information is helpful to ensure the playground equipment is appropriate for the ages of the neighborhood.
